Boskovic boosts Eczacibasi’s straight-set win

 

Eczacibasi VitrA Istanbul picked up their second win in the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Women's Club World Championship, following their 3-0 triumph over Supreme Chonburi

Shaoxing, China, December 5, 2018 – Tijana Boskovic led the charge in Eczacibasi’s second victory in the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship, scoring 16 points to help her squad beat Supreme Chonburi 3-0 (25-15, 25-11, 25-17) on Wednesday.

Boskovic was prolific on all scoring fronts as she recorded 12 attacks, two blocks and two aces. Kim Yeon Koung scored 13 points coming from 12 attacks and a block. Supreme’s young outside hitter Wipawee Srithong led the Thai side with 11 points.


Lauren Gibbemeyer and Kim Yeon Koung were also instrumental to the second triumph of Eczacibasi VitrA Istanbul in the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship.

Eczacibasi had a strong starting six, including Boskovic, Kim, Jordan Larson and Lauren Gibbemeyer. These four players ran solid offence for the Turkish club, outplaying the defence of the opposing side.

Eczacibasi were impressive from the service line, producing nine service winners, and were strong with their net defence by deflecting their rivals eight times.

Towards the end of the third set, coach Marco Aurelio Motta fielded in his other players on the court who played with the same intensity as the starters to secure set and match.
