Camponesa/Minas claim 2018 South American Women's Club Championship title

Belo Horizonte, Brazil, February 24, 2018 - The final of the South American Women's Club Championship in Belo Horizonte was an all-Brazilian match with Camponesa/Minas claiming a 3-2 (25-23, 22-25, 25-23, 15-25, 15-9) victory against Sesc-RJ on Saturday.

Camponesa/Minas captain and championship MVP Carol Gattaz said: "I was so anxious before the match, I couldn't sleep. I thought about the game all night and about what we needed to do to beat Rio. Today fortunately we managed to do everything right and claim the win. Not all we did was good, which is normal during matches like this, but the union of our team was key."

The match for third place featured a victory for Club de Ragatas Lima from Peru against Gimnasia y Esgrima la Plata from Argentina 3-0 (25-19, 25-15, 25-15).
