Carol Gattaz of Minas Tenis Clube tallied 19 points to help her team win the tiebreaker against Volero Le Cannet
Shaoxing, China, December 4, 2018 – Caroline Gattaz stepped up for her team, leading Brazil’s Minas Tenis Clube to win a thrilling tiebreaker 3-2 (17-25, 25-20, 25-16, 17-25, 16-14) against France’s Volero Le Cannet in the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship on Tuesday.
Carol Gattaz led Minas with 19 points, including 14 spikes and five blocks, while team-mate Bruna Honorio Marques added 17 markers coming from 15 spikes and two blocks. Heidy Casanova Alvarez of Volero had a match-high 25 points from 20 solid spikes and four blocks.

Natalia Pereira and Gabi Guimaraes teamed-up to get the Brazilian side back on their feet, then Carol Gattaz also helped out on offence to win the next two sets. Casanova, with the help of Lazarenko and Ana Bjelica, unleashed a strong performance to get Volero back on track in the fourth set, forcing the tiebreaker.
Minas started the final set with a big lead, but Volero countered to equalise at 14-all. Carol Gattaz’s swing took her team to match point before a strong spike from Bruna sealed the match win 16-14.Quick links - Volleyball:
