Karakurt shines in straight-set win for VakifBank

 

Ebrar Karakurt and Zhu Ting led VakifBank Istanbul's offence to win 3-0 against Zhejiang Women's Volleyball Club

Shaoxing, China, December 4, 2018 – VakifBank Istanbul’s 18-year-old opposite Ebrar Karakurt showed a promising performance, top-scoring with 17 points and leading her team to a 3-0 (25-20, 25-13, 25-13) victory against Zhejiang Volleyball Club at the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship on Tuesday.

The young Turkish player built her solid performance from 12 spikes, three blocks and two service winners. Zhu Ting finished second in scoring with 16 points, and Milena Rasic added another 12 points for VakifBank.

Ren Kaiyi led the home team with eight points, then captain Wang Na and Zhu Yuezhou made five points each on a losing effort.


Zhu Ting and Milena Rasic scored in double-figures to help VakifBank to a 3-0 win over Zhejiang Women’s Volleyball Club.

Karakurt and Zhu unleashed strong spikes against the Zhejiang team, but the latter gave the visiting side a good fight in the opening set. The home team fought for every point and managed to keep a close score, but Zhu and Karakurt’s heroics sealed the set victory at 25-20.

VakifBank mounted a big lead against their rivals by employing tough defence at the net, making it difficult for the opposing side to find an open spot to score. They continued to intimidate in the third set until the home team conceded at 25-13.
