Shaoxing, China, December 4, 2018 – Eczacibasi VitrA Istanbul had a great start in the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship with a straight-set win over Altay Volleyball Club on Tuesday.

Eczacibasi VitrA Istanbul coach Marco Aurelio Motta: “We played very well today with few mistakes. We had a good performance. Everyone played well.”

Eczacibasi VitrA Istanbul captain Jordan Larson: “We are excited to compete. We have been training for three days here so it’s fun to get out there and play. I am proud of my team for playing a strong match.

“We would like to win the whole thing, but we have to focus on getting better each game. We want to focus on our side first. We have new team members and we have to find good balance.”

Altay Volleyball Club coach Iurii Panchenko: “We played one of the best clubs in the world. We had many mistakes in the first and second sets. We must prepare against a strong Brazilian club, so I hope we can play better against them.”
