Lausanne, Switzerland, November 12, 2018 - Reigning Brazil champions Dentil Praia Clube of Uberlandia are on a roll ahead of their appearance in the 2018 FIVB Women's Club World Championship, after winning their first trophy of the season, Saturday in Fortaleza with a win over Volley Osasco Audax in the country's Supercup.

Praia Clube beat Osasco 3-1 (27-29, 25-17, 25-21, 25-23) before 4,500 fans in the annual meeting of the reigning champions and the current cup-holders which marks the start of the season. The 2018-19 Brazil Superleague begins on 16 November.

Praia Clube are one of two Brazilian sides, alongside Minas Tenis Clube of Belo Horizonte, at the 2018 Club World Championship, early next month in China.

"We know of our weaknesses and we are still getting together, so coming away with that win today was very important," said Praia Clube captain Fabiana Claudinho after the game. The 2018 Club World Championship will be held 4-9 December in Shaoxing.

Praia Clube are in Pool B, together with Altay Volleyball Club of Kazakhstan, Eczacibasi VitrA Istanbul of Turkey and Supreme Chonburi of Thailand.
