Supreme Chonburi play Volero Le Cannet on Saturday

December 7, 2018 - Supreme Chonburi take on Volero Le Cannet in the
classification matches for places 5 ot 8 in the FIVB Volleyball Women's
Club World Championship on Saturday.

Head-to-Head
·    Supreme Chonburi and Volero Le Cannet will meet for the first time.
·  
 Volero Zürich, one of Volero Le Cannet's predecessors have played once
before against Thai opposition. In Manila in 2016, they won in straight
sets against Bangkok Glass.
·    The only match for Supreme Chonburi
against a European side was their straight-set loss against Eczacibasi
VitrA at this year's tournament.

Supreme Chonburi
·  
 Tournament debutants Supreme Chonburi claimed their first win at the
2018 club world championship by defeating Altay Volleyball Club 3-1.
·  
 Supreme Chonburi could now become the first side from Thailand to
claim multiple wins at the club world championship. Bangkok Glass
claimed one win, in 2016.
·    Supreme Chonburi can still equal the
best ranking for a team from Thailand - a fifth place for Chang Bangkok
in 2010 and 2011.
·    Wipawee Srithong scored 21 points against
Altay Volleyball Club. She is her teams top scorer at this tournament on
38 points, followed by Pleumjit Thinkaow (35).

Volero Le Cannet
·    Volero Le Cannet and Altay Volleyball Club are the only two teams without a win at this year's club world championship.
·  
 Volero Le Cannet have played two five-set matches this tournament.
They lost 3-2 against both Minas Tènis Clube and Zhejiang Women's
Volleyball Club. No other match in this tournament has been decided in
five sets in the preliminary round.
·    Despite their 3-2 set loss, Volero won more points against Zhejiang (107 against 102).
·  
 Four players reached double figures in points for Volero against
Zhejiang - Gergana Dimitrova (18), Angelina Lazarenko (17), Ana Bjelica
(15), Laura Unternährer (15).
·    Bjelica is the team's top scorer
on 40 points. She is the only player from Volero to reach double figures
in all three matches so far.
