Unternahrer: “We fought together as a team”

Volero Zurich showed great teamwork to beat Supreme Chonburi in the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Women's Club World Championship

Shaoxing, China, December 8, 2018 – Volero Le Cannet captain Laura Unternahrer emphasised the importance of teamwork in their 3-1 win over Supreme Chonburi in the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship on Saturday.

Volero Le Cannet captain Laura Unternahrer
: “It was a hard fight but in the end we won. We had two players who could not play, but it was good that we found a solution and fought together as a team to win.”

Volero Le Cannet player Gergana Dimitrova: “I had to step up today because we had some problems with injuries in the team. So the main focus is for those who can help the team. This win gave us confidence, but our attitude and goal has always been the same – to win.”

Supreme Chonburi captain Wilavan Apinyapong: “We played our game, but it was a very difficult match. We used a lot of our strength to play against a taller team. Volero Le Cannet players have great skills – block, attack and defence.

“We are going to play Zhejiang in the next match and it will be difficult to play them because they are in their home court. We will do our best to play well and fight for every point.”
