Wilavan: “This win will give our young players confidence”

Supreme Chonburi's Wilavan Apinyapong in action against Altay Volleyball Club in the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Women's Club World Championship in Shaoxing

Shaoxing, China, December 7, 2018 – Supreme Chonburi captain Wilavan Apinyapong believes that their first win in the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship will boost the confidence of their young players.

Supreme Chonburi coach Nataphon Srisamutnak: “We used a different tactic on offence today. We utilised it well in this match and we were able to get our opponents unprepared on defence."

Supreme Chonburi captain Wilavan Apinyapong: “Our team is very happy to earn this first victory in this competition. This win will give our young players more confidence in the succeeding matches. I hope our next performance will be better than today's.”

Altay Volleyball Club coach Iurii Panchenko: “We played well in some parts of each set, but we still lack consistency that is why we lost the match. We had many mistakes and the other team had good players who played good defence. It was very hard to score against them. I think we must aim to play better next time.”
